Tours may be slightly more expensive and constrained compared to planning your own trip, but I have discovered tours from a reputable company offer intangibles. My Sun Tours Canyonlands trip exceded all expectations. I was impressed with how well organized the tour was, very little wasted time plus the tour guide made the trip far more interesting and entertaining. What I enjoyed most in addition to stress free travel was the friendships made from the many opportunities to interact with fellow travelers. Most travelers on the tour had taken multiple trips with Sun Tours, which in my view makes a statement about how well done their tours are.
